Club Rules

  1. All shooting will be to the rules of the National Field Archery Society and the club’s own set of rules.

  2. For visitors to the practice ground, there will be a fee charged for tuition and use of the club ’s equipment, this not being refundable in the event of these persons joining the club but being a once only payment.

  3. It is the responsibility of all club members to take care of the club ’s facilities - e.g. the caravans, the area surrounding them and the woodland, by removing litter & generally keeping the place tidy.  It is not someone else’s job to do this.

  4. There is a strict NO SMOKING policy in force in the Forestry Commission woodland.   Members who wish to smoke must do it on the caravan side of the boundary fence.

  5. Any member participating in club activities must not partake of excess alcohol.   Anyone found to be under the influence might be asked to leave the club.

  6. It is incumbent that members should at all times conduct themselves in a way so as not to bring the club ’s name in to disrepute and to always behave in a responsible and acceptable manner within the club’s auspices.  Failure to adhere to this rule will leave the offender/s liable to expulsion from the club.

  7. Fully paid-up members of all categories (excepting Country Members) shall each be issued with their own individual quiver/belt tag, which must be worn, at all times when shooting at the club ’s grounds.  Each will denote that the current subscription has been paid and each will have it’s own membership identity number for security reasons.

  8. Main gate locking - As a general rule, the main gates must always be kept closed and locked, unless the proprietor or staff are on site and the gates are already open. So upon entry, the padlock should be snapped-to and, on departure, members must always lock the gate behind them even if there are still some members down at the HQ site.

  9. For safety reasons, members are prohibited from shooting alone in the woodland course. For safety reasons, members must not enter the wood when wind speeds exceed 25mph.

  10. Failure to adhere to the club ’s official rules, could lead to the expulsion of the member/s from the club.

  11. Any prospective new member who has been convicted of offences under Wildlife and Countryside Act legislation shall not be permitted to join the club.   Similarly, any existing members who have been convicted under the above legislation will be expelled from the club forthwith.
